Description

The purpose of evangelization and catechesis is to raise faith and conversion. Conversion "is the fruit of the grace of God and the free response to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit." This conversion is the acceptance of a personal relationship with Christ and involves a genuine commitment to Him and a personal decision to follow Him as His disciple (DNC #15B). Evangelization and catechesis seek both the internal change of the person and the external transformation of societies.

The Catechesis affirms that parents are the first educators of their children in the faith. The family is the environment where catechesis occurs naturally and spontaneously. The testimony of Christian life, offered by parents within the family, reaches their children wrapped in maternal and paternal affection and respect. Children perceive and experience with joy the closeness of God and Jesus that their parents show, to such an extent that this first Christian experience often leaves a decisive mark on them that lasts a lifetime.

Parents and children are reinforcing what children receive in Faith Formation. We hope to provide parents with the tools necessary to understand and participate in the entire faith formation process.

This year, children and young people who are receiving preparation for all the sacraments of Christian initiation or RCIA adapted for children have also been unified in this process; children preparing for their First Communion and who have problems with the English language; the same as young people who aspire to receive their confirmation and have the same circumstance; They are united with the young people and children who reinforce their catechism with their parents.

An integrated approach to catechesis

  • An engaging and relevant kerygmatic catechesis that young people enjoy through a blended learning model of textbooks, online learning interactions, and engaging video enhancements.

  • A teach-the-teacher model equips teachers to present lessons effectively and become more deeply formed in the faith as they teach. When teachers and catechists are well trained and passionate about the content, everyone wins.

  • An authentic, comprehensive program for children and parents, providing comprehensive family faith formation using materials from Word of Life and the extensive digital library of the Augustine Institute and Ignatius Press.
